Our Story

Ever had an experience buying a new bike that was less than perfect?  Our founder Shawn did.   He was also tired of sitting in an office all day wishing he could be on his bike.  He knew he could make a better experience for others too.  That's when the idea of Oxygen Bike Co begun.   Soon, a customer-focused business plan was created, a depletion of life savings and some awesome relationships with the best brands in the business synchronized perfectly.  A year later, Oxygen Bike Co was open.  Total sales on our first day was $6...a single tire tube.  It was daunting, but we were committed.

That was 2011 and we've already expanded into our second store that is triple the size of the original.   The best products, awesome staff, thousands of loyal customers and fantasic reviews on Google and Facebook - we must be doing something well.  And we'd like to thank YOU for the success.

Our Management Team

Shawn Fitz - Chief Bicycle Officer

Marketing, Sales and Spinning guy.   Shawn founded Oxygen Bike Co to offer a better experience to cyclists in his Toronto hometown.  He doesn't want the shop to be big. He just insists that it's an awesome place to buy a bike, go for a spin class or just hang out and talk bikes.

Favorite Bike: 2022 Norco Sight C2 VLT -  "Ok, so it's got a little motor in it...I'm not 25 anymore".

Chris Dring - Store Manager

Chris does everything.  He's the guy that makes it all happen when customers really need it done.  From sales to ensuring the Service Dept is running smooth, he overlooks everything.

Favorite Bike:  His Norco Search Gravel bike.  Perfect for long rides on less than perfect roads..

Kevin Sutton - Service Manager/Head Tech

If you want the guy who is actually working on your bike, it's likely Kevin.   He personally works on the majority of our repair bikes and supervises the entire team.  If for any reason your bike is late, rumour has it that a 6pk of cheap beer moves you up in the priority list.  Jokes people...jokes!

Favorite Bike: 2022 Trek Roscoe.  "Real Riders suffer on Hardtails".

Policies, Terms and Conditions

We know that repeat customers make for a sustainable business.  So every policy we have is designed around giving you an awesome experience.

Lifetime Tune-Up Program

We’ve quickly become famous for our FREE LIFETIME tune-up program.  It works like this:  Buy any new bike from our store and we will provide no-charge brake adjustments, gear adjustments and tire inflation for as long as you own the bike.  Yes, you read that correctly and it's legit.   By servicing the bicycle frequently, we can provide early diagnosis of anything it may require in the future and it's something other shops don't do.  We rock. We know.

Lowest Price Guarantee, Currency and HST

We will match or beat any Ontario authorized dealer’s advertised price on the identical make, model, year, size and colour of anything in our store.  It has to be the exact same item and the advertiser needs to have it in-stock and available for sale.  All prices are in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and exclude HST (HST 827 136 912).

Refunds & Exchanges - In Store Purchases

We will gladly refund or exchange items purchased in our store within 10 days of purchase when accompanied with the original receipt.  Items must be unused and in the same condition as sold (i.e. in original packaging, not installed etc).  Clothing must have all manufacturers tags affixed.  Policy exceptions include bicycles, indoor trainers, helmets and cycling shorts.  All purchases of all items at trade shows such as the Toronto International Bike Show are on a “No Refunds, No Exchanges” policy as this is a close-out clearance event.  See below for Online Purchase policies.

Prices and Description Accuracy

Our website is intended to help you. We make every effort to maintain current, accurate prices and inventory in our online catalog and we strive for similar accuracy and timeliness with the other information we offer here. We appreciate your understanding should any of the prices or other information provided be incorrect and regret any inconvenience such mistakes may create. Please bring any errors you find to our attention on your next visit or by calling or emailing us. Thank you.

Police Registration

Bike theft sucks.  So we are pleased to register your bicycle with the Toronto Police for free even if you did not buy your bike from us.  Just bring it in and we’ll register it with the Toronto police on the spot.

Kids Half-Back Program

Kids grow up too fast.  But they still deserve quality bikes.  So bring in your junior bike that you purchased from Oxygen Bike Co. and we will apply up to 50% of the original price towards the purchase of your next new kids bicycle!

The used bikes are tuned-up re-sold to new riders. (Used bikes are not applicable to this program).  Children’s bike's wheel sizes 12"-24" are eligible for our half back program but it excludes BMX bikes given their intended abusive purpose.

Program Rules:

  • Cannondale, Trek, Rocky Mountain and Norco 12” to 24” bikes.
  • 2-year limit on the program (Children’s bikes are only valid for half-back within 2 years of the original date of purchase).
  • Any damages (ex. broken pedals, worn tires, etc.) will be subtracted from the half back value of the bicycle upon return.
  • Must provide original copy of receipt upon return of bicycle.
  • Excessive and unreasonable wear and tear bikes are excluded.
